Delta United 99 Diamonds

The U13 Delta United Diamonds finished in second place at the Tracy Orange Bowl tournament over Memorial Day weekend out of a field of 8 U13 Silver girls teams. During the weekend the Diamonds beat the Sunnyvale Extreme 2-0, California Odyssey 3-1 and tied the Monterey County Strikers 1-1 leading to the Finals on Monday morning vs Tracy United Soccer. Tracy United tied the game in the last two minutes after a drop ball restart caused by an injury in the penalty area to a Diamond player. The Diamonds lost the championship game in sudden death penalty kicks after a 2-2 draw in the game and a 3-3 draw in the first round of PKs. All matches were well contested and the host club Tracy Futbol Club did a nice job running the tournament, providing very nice fields and an overall good experience for the players and their families.
